What is the update on the Suzhou Metro lines?


The Suzhou Metro Line 1 opened on April 28th in Suzhou. The Xing Hai Guangchang (just north of Global 188 on Suhui Lu) stop includes supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries as well as a utilities office where you can pay your electricity, water and gas, and the Suzhou citizen card services office. 

The Metro operates daily from 05:00 to 23:00 with trains running every 5 minutes. 

Suzhou Subway Line 1 runs east-west, from Mudu in western Suzhou to Zhongnan Jie in the SIP. The line is 25 km long with 24 stations and fares range from 2-6 RMB/trip. The total trip takes just under 45 minutes. Click on the link below to view the Line 1 Timetable:

Suzhou Subway Line 2 is the north-south line of the city and runs between Suzhou North Railway Station in the north to the Baodaiqiao South Station in the south, covering, Xiangcheng District, Gusu District and Wuzhong District. The present section in operation is the first phase, 26.5 km long with 22 stations. It interchanges with Subway Line 1 at Guangji Nanlu. The fare for the whole line is 6 RMB/trip. The east and north extension will be constructed in the future as per the plan. Tickets can be bought at the ticket window or the ticket machine and the ticket machine is in both English and Chinese. To date there has been no announcement of special carriages for bikes or dogs at any time. There is currently also no monthly card. However, you can use your ‘Suzhou Tong Card’ which will give you a 5% discount.
